We are in an era where our cell phone has taken over a very big part of our life. Imagine a day without your cell phone!! The thought is also scary. However there are certain etiquettes that one must follow while using their phone. These are as follows:
- TALKING LOUDLY OVER A CALL IS AN ABSOLUTE NO-NO
Don’t speak loudly on your phone, in public. It disturbs and distracts people who are not interested in your shopping list, fancy dress completion of your child or your fight with the spouse.
- SPEAK SOFTLY WHILE USING A HANDS FREE DEVICE
Keep your voice low, particularly when you are using Bluetooth or hands free device. People around you may think you are speaking to them and end up getting embarrassed.
- MUTE YOUR PHONE WHEN YOU ARE NOT AROUND IT
Don’t leave your phone lying around about any and everywhere. When you are away or simply put it on silent mode. Your favorite ringtone or that song that you find catchy may just irritate others.
- NEVER USE YOUR PHONE WHILE DRIVING
Pay heed to other road users and give them way. Often car drivers on a phone neither accelerate, nor give way. Using the phone while driving, of course, remains a big no-no. Don’t text while walking or driving. You can bump into a pole, collide with another street user or crash your car.
- MUTE MODE ON IN THEATER PLEASE
Don’t use your phone when you go to the cinema. Step out if you have to. The conversations can be very disturbing for others.
- NEVER DO AN AUTOPSY OF SOMEONE ELSE’S PHONE WITHOUT THEIR APPROVAL
When looking at a photo or a message on someone else’s phone, do not take this as an opportunity to scan other photos and messages without the owner’s approval.
- NO AIMLESS USING OF YOUR PHONE PLEASE
Don’t scan your phone aimlessly while at a social gathering. Take a break, try to engage and imagine life without technology.
